Dubai International (DXB) Sets Passenger Record with 46 Million Travelers in First Half of 2025
Dubai International Airport (DXB) has reported its busiest ever first half, welcoming 46 million passengers in the first six months of 2025—a 2.3% increase year-on-year and a strong signal of the resilience and growth of Dubai’s aviation sector.
Despite temporary airspace disruptions in May and June, DXB maintained high operational performance, reaffirming its position as the world’s busiest international airport and a critical hub for global connectivity. The milestone reinforces Dubai’s broader economic momentum and the airport’s role in connecting the emirate to key global markets.
Strong Second Quarter Performance
DXB served 22.5 million passengers in the second quarter alone—up 3.1% compared to the same period in 2024. April stood out as the busiest month of the quarter and the most active April on record, with 8 million passengers passing through its terminals.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, credited the airport community and operational agility for the achievement:
“DXB’s continued growth through regional challenges reflects the strength of Dubai and the UAE, the resilience of our infrastructure, and the dedication of our people. The oneDXB approach helped us maintain exceptional service levels while adapting quickly to disruptions and ensuring seamless global connectivity.”
Griffiths added that DXB anticipates even stronger traffic in the second half of the year, driven by a robust event calendar—including the high-profile Dubai Airshow 2025, expected to break attendance records and further cement the city’s leadership in global aviation.
