AFRAA 198th Executive Committee Meeting Charts Course for African Aviation Advancement

The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) successfully convened its 198th Executive Committee Meeting on Saturday, 11 July 2026, in Nairobi, Kenya.
Presiding over the high-level session was Capt. Dr. George I. Kamal, acting Group CEO of Kenya Airways, who steered deliberations on critical advocacy and strategic actions designed to propel the association’s mission forward.
The committee, representing a cross-section of the continent’s leading carriers—including Tunisair (1st Vice Chair), RwandaAir (2nd Vice Chair), Ethiopian Airlines, EGYPTAIR, TAAG Angola, Air Tanzania, Royal Air Maroc, Congo Airways, ASKY, LAM Mozambique, and Fly Gabon—focused on unified strategies to enhance operational efficiency and air connectivity.
Discussions also addressed pressing industry challenges and championed the collective interests of member airlines.
As the body responsible for supervising association affairs and formulating policy frameworks between General Assemblies, the Executive Committee reinforced its dedication to the sustainable development of African aviation.
