Air Zimbabwe Resumes Direct Harare–London Flights After Hiatus

Air Zimbabwe has announced the return of its direct scheduled passenger service between Harare and London Gatwick, effective 22 July 2026, marking a significant milestone in the national carrier’s efforts to restore international connectivity.

The route will operate three times weekly, with departures from Harare on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Return flights from London Gatwick’s South Terminal are scheduled for Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The service is expected to boost tourism, trade, and investment while strengthening ties with the Zimbabwean diaspora in the United Kingdom.

To mark the launch, Air Zimbabwe is offering promotional fares starting at £490 one-way and £675 return for the London–Harare sector, while Harare–London tickets start at US$495 one-way and US$900 return. All fares are subject to availability and standard terms and conditions. Bookings can be made via the airline’s website, its sales offices, or accredited travel agents.

The Harare–London service will be operated with an Airbus A330-300 aircraft under a wet lease (ACMI) agreement with Spanish carrier Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas. Under this arrangement, Plus Ultra supplies the aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance, while Air Zimbabwe handles ticketing, passenger services, and commercial management. The airline emphasized its commitment to safe, reliable, and customer-focused operations.

Zimbabwe’s re-engagement with global markets. The resumption comes as Zimbabwe seeks to enhance its economic partnerships and restore its position as a regional aviation hub.
