East African School of Aviation Celebrates 11th Graduation

The East African School of Aviation (EASA) marked a significant milestone today, proudly hosting its 11th Graduation Ceremony. The event celebrated the successful completion of rigorous training by a new cohort of aviation professionals, ready to contribute to the dynamic growth of the regional and continental industry.

The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Teresia Mbaika, CBS, Principal Secretary for the State Department of Aviation and Aerospace Development. In a powerful keynote address, Ms. Mbaika lauded the graduates for their resilience and achievement.

“The future of African aviation rests on the shoulders of skilled, innovative, and dedicated professionals like you,” stated Ms. Mbaika. “As you take wing, remember that you are not just entering a profession; you are becoming custodians of safety, ambassadors of our region, and the drivers of the technological and collaborative advancements that will define our sector’s future.”

The Principal Secretary emphasized the critical pillars of innovation, dedication, and collaboration, urging the graduates to be at the forefront of embracing sustainable practices, digital transformation, and pan-African partnerships to unlock the full potential of the continent’s air transport ecosystem.

The event was also attended by senior leadership from the sector’s regulatory body, underscoring the strong partnership between training and industry oversight. The delegation included the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) Board, led by the Chairman, Mr. Brown M. Ondego, EBS, the KCAA Director General, Mr. Emile Arao, and members of the KCAA Senior Management team. Their presence highlighted the collective commitment to maintaining world-class standards in aviation education and safety.

The graduating class comprised students from diverse disciplines within aviation, including Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Piloting, Air Traffic Control, and Aviation Management. As they received their diplomas and certificates, the ceremony served as a vibrant testament to EASA’s pivotal role as a premier hub for cultivating top-tier aviation talent in East Africa and beyond.
