Kenyan Trade Delegation Visits Entebbe International Airport

A Trade and Investment Mission from Mombasa, Kenya, comprising 12 companies, visited key trade facilitation structures at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday July 8, 2025 as part of their scheduled mission to Uganda under the theme “Promoting Intra-East African Trade and Investment for Economic Development.”

Led by Amb. Paul Mukumbya, Uganda’s Consul General in Mombasa, the delegation toured the Uganda Free Zones Authority, Export Promotion structures, and the Cargo Terminal Building at Entebbe International Airport to explore opportunities for deeper regional collaboration and address barriers to seamless trade in line with recommendations from the May 2024 Uganda-Kenya Joint Ministerial Commission.

During the guided tour—facilitated by UCAA’s Ag. Manager Economic Regulation, Mr. Dennis Oloro, and Ag. Chief Security Officer, Mr. Swalik Kakaire Magezi—the delegation appreciated Uganda’s strides in modernizing cargo handling and clearance processes. They also commended the collaborative efforts of URA, Menzies Aviation, DAS Handling, and other stakeholders in boosting air cargo efficiency.

In his remarks, Ambassador Mukumbya expressed his gratitude to the UCAA leadership for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the delegation. He reaffirmed Kenya’s strong commitment to fostering sustainable and mutually beneficial trade relations with Uganda and the wider East African region.
