Ghana re-opens Kumasi International Airport

Ghana has re-opened Kumasi International Airport after six years of renovation. The airport was officially re-opened by Ghana’s president Nana Addo Dankwa Afufo-Addo at a ceremony held on Friday may 10th 2024 and has been renamed Nana Agyemang Prempeh I International Airport in honour of the 14th monarch of the ashanti kingdom who fought about the British colonization.

The airport has a capacity to accommodate over 800,000 passengers annually, and is poised to meet the increasing demand for air travel in the western African country.  The facility is being managed by the Ghana Airport Company Limited and is expected to create new opportunities for hoteliers and tourism operators in the region.
