Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority Gets New Director General

Ethiopia’s aviation regulator, Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECCA) has welcomed Mr. John Aberra to serve as its Director General following the resignation of Getachew Mengele who has been serving as the ECAA Director General.

The appointment of Mr. John Aberra comes after the sudden resignation of Mr. Getachew Mengele who has joined African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC).

Prior to his appointment, Mr. John Aberra has been working as Director of Air traffic Control Management for more than 20 years. Mr. Aberra had also diligently worked at the Civil Aviation Authority of Ethiopia as an Assistant Air traffic Controller before rising in ranks to become Director of Air Traffic Control Management.

Mr. John Aberra brings a wealth of aviation experience to the authority and is expected to see major transformation of the Authority and ensure that the Authority soars high on its mandate on the African continent and beyond.
