KQ Cargo Bolsters African Trade with Strategic B747 Freighter Operation

In a significant move to enhance trade connectivity, KQ Cargo has successfully operated a B747 freighter under a new capacity purchase agreement. The operation facilitated the movement of nearly 100 tonnes of cargo from Sharjah into the African market, while simultaneously dispatching over 110 tonnes of exports from Kenya to the UAE.

This strategic airlift provided critical support for Kenyan exports, ensuring that high-value perishable goods reached their international destinations with speed and reliability. Concurrently, the inbound leg of the operation addressed urgent logistics needs by clearing backlogs of cargo from the UAE, which had been impacted by ongoing geopolitical challenges in the region.

This milestone underscores KQ Cargo’s continued commitment to strengthening air cargo capacity for the Kenyan market. By bridging gaps caused by global disruptions, the airline reinforces its position as a key enabler of trade across the continent.

“We are proud to welcome this additional freighter capacity as it allows us to offer our customers consistent and reliable access to global markets,” said a KQ Cargo representative. “As we continue to expand our freighter network, our focus remains steadfast on supporting exporters, freight forwarders, and businesses that rely on us to keep supply chains moving.”
