Kenya Airways and Qatar Airways Seal Strategic Codeshare Deal to Boost Global Connectivity

In a significant move set to reshape travel corridors between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, Kenya Airways and Qatar Airways have announced a new extensive codeshare agreement. The partnership is scheduled to commence on 26 October 2025, offering customers seamless access to a combined network of 19 destinations across three continents.
This strategic alliance will leverage the strengths of both national carriers, providing travellers with unparalleled connectivity and a more integrated travel experience.
Enhanced Travel Options for Customers
The codeshare agreement is designed to offer mutual benefits, unlocking new possibilities for both airlines’ passengers:
· For Kenya Airways Passengers: Travelers flying with Kenya Airways will gain convenient, one-stop access to 11 premium global destinations beyond Qatar Airways’ hub in Doha. This opens up a world of new opportunities in Asia, Australia, and the Middle East with a single, streamlined booking.
· For Qatar Airways Passengers: Customers of the award-winning Qatar Airways will enjoy seamless connections to 8 key African cities via the Nairobi hub. This provides deeper access to the heart of East and Central Africa, including popular safari destinations and growing economic centers, all with the ease of a through ticket.
Strengthened Hub Connectivity
To support this expanded partnership, Qatar Airways will introduce a third daily flight on the Doha-Nairobi route. This increased frequency will offer travellers greater flexibility in scheduling, more convenient connection times, and enhanced capacity to meet growing demand for travel between the two regions.
A spokesperson for Kenya Airways commented on the partnership, stating, “This alliance with Qatar Airways is a cornerstone of our strategy to enhance our global network and offer our customers more choices. By connecting our Nairobi hub with Qatar Airways’ world-class hub in Doha, we are bridging Africa to the world more effectively than ever before.”
A representative from Qatar Airways added, “We are delighted to deepen our relationship with Kenya Airways. This codeshare not only strengthens our presence in Africa but also reaffirms our commitment to connecting continents. Our passengers can now look forward to discovering the beauty and opportunity of Africa with unmatched ease, while welcoming more travellers from the continent to our global network.”
The 26 October start date gives both airlines time to integrate systems and prepare for the launch, which is eagerly anticipated by the aviation and travel industries.
