Entebbe Airport Achieves Record-Breaking Traffic as Arrivals Surge in July 2025

Entebbe International Airport set a new milestone in July 2025, handling 230,577 passengers, the highest monthly traffic in the airport’s history. The figure comprised 119,127 arrivals and 111,450 departures, averaging 7,437 passengers per day. Notably, arrivals exceeded departures throughout the month.
The previous record was registered in December 2024, when the airport handled 222,301 passengers, averaging 7,171 daily travelers.
According to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, the surge in July 2025 was largely driven by the arrival of delegations for CHAN 2024, heightened tourism promotion campaigns, a growing number of international conferences, and improved airline connectivity.
Cargo operations also recorded strong performance, with the airport handling a total of 5,863 metric tonnes. This included 3,961 tonnes of exports and 1,902 tonnes of imports, underscoring Entebbe’s growing role as both a passenger and cargo hub in the region.
