Qatar Airways Resumes Flights to Kigali After three-year Hiatus
Qatar Airways has resumed flights between Doha (DOH) and Kigali (KGL) after a pause of more than three years, with service resuming on June 25. The airline will operate four weekly flights—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—using an Airbus A320 with 12 Business and 120 Economy Class seats.
Flight QR1389 departs Doha at 08:20 and arrives in Kigali at 13:30; the return flight, QR1390, leaves at 15:50 and arrives in Doha at 22:50.
This move strengthens Qatar Airways’ presence in Africa, where it now serves 30 cities with over 170 weekly flights. The airline highlights its commitment to supporting African trade, tourism, and connectivity through its global hub at Doha’s Hamad International Airport.
“Africa is a vast, growing, and underserved market. Increasing our network in this vital region underscores our commitment to global connectivity, working in partnership with African states to support the continent’s trade, business, and tourism potential,” Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori said in a news release.
The addition of Kigali to its route network bolsters Qatar’s capacity in Africa, which currently averages over 44,000 seats per week.
