Uganda Signs Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with Latvia

Uganda signed a Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with Latvia on May 12, 2025, a major step toward strengthening air connectivity and cooperation between the two nations.

The Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Jeje Odong Abubakhar on the sidelines of the Latvia-Africa Forum 2025 held from May 11- 12, 2025 in Riga, Latvia. Also in attendance was Amb. Margaret M. Otteskov, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Uganda Civil Aviation Authority’s Manager Economic Regulation, Mr. Christopher Kasozi.

Discussions also explored future partnerships between designated airlines of both countries, including possibilities for code sharing and other cooperative arrangements, among others.
