Uganda Civil Aviation Authority Concludes State Safety Program Awareness Training

Uganda Civil Aviation Authority has concluded a two-day state Safety Program (SSP) Awareness Training for senior management.

The two day program held at Protea Hotel in Kampala commenced on April 9th and ended on April 10th 2025. The State Safety Awareness Training program targeted Senior Management in UCAA and participants included Uganda’s key aviation industry players.

The training was facilitated by the UK Civil Aviation Authority International (UKCAAi) under the Airbus Support Program, and was aimed at building national capacity and deepening understanding of the State Safety Program, a globally recommended approach for managing safety risks and ensuring regulatory compliance in Uganda’s aviation system.

The training session was designed to help senior leaders, understand their critical leadership role in effectively implementing and integrating State Safety Program (SSP) within their organizations’ Safety Oversight and Management System (SMS), and promoting a strong safety culture and complying with national and international safety regulations.

The training was attended by Uganda Civil Aviation Authority Director General Mr. Bamwesigye among other UCAA senior managers.
