The Sudanese Embassy in Uganda holds a protest against the violations against civilians in Sudan and appeals to the regional and international community

The Popular Rally to Support Sudan held a protest on Friday inside the Sudanese embassy, denouncing the human rights violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher and Zamzam camps.
Following Friday prayers, Sudanese gathered at the embassy mosque, carrying various banners in Arabic and English reading, “No to killing. The RSF is a criminal militia.” Some of the posters included images of supporters of those accused of supporting conflicts in Sudan, a reference to the United Arab Emirates and its President, Mohammed bin Zayed.
The rally was addressed by a number of Sudanese who spoke out against the RSF and denounced the major crimes it has committed in Sudan. They also expressed their rejection of foreign interference in Sudan. The organizers of the event stated that it was an important opportunity to convey Sudan’s voice and highlight the violations committed against civilians in Sudan by the RSF.
The Sudanese Embassy in Uganda also thanked the Ugandan government for its support and welcome of Sudanese refugees and thanked President Museveni for considering Sudanese citizens not as refugees. Speakers called on the regional and international community to urgently punish the militia and classify it as a terrorist organization, to protect civilians and demand the conviction and prosecution of war criminals.
Sudan has previously filed a formal complaint against the United Arab Emirates at the International Criminal Court, accusing it of genocide in Darfur.
