Salamair Launches Direct Flights to Nairobi, Kenya

SalamAir, Oman’s low-cost carrier, has launched direct flights from its capital, Muscat to Nairobi, Kenya, marking a major milestone in its expansion into Africa.
The inaugural flight landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on 17 March 2025, where a ceremony was held under the patronage of Mohamed Daghar, Kenya’s Principal Secretary for Transport, alongside Omani and Kenyan ambassadors. The new service positions SalamAir as the only airline directly connecting Oman and Kenya, opening up opportunities for trade, tourism, and investment.
Commenting on the expansion, Adrian Hamilton-Manns, CEO of SalamAir, said: “We are thrilled to introduce flights between Muscat and Nairobi, aligning with Oman Vision 2040’s goal of strengthening global connectivity. Nairobi is a thriving economic hub with immense tourism potential, and this route provides an affordable, convenient link for both business and leisure travelers. It also enhances access for Kenyan travelers to explore Oman and connect seamlessly to the GCC and the Indian subcontinent.”
The new route is expected to boost trade flows, facilitate government and business engagements, and promote cultural exchange between the two nations.
