A RwandAir de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration 9XR-WM performing a domestic flight WB-601 from Kigali to Kamembe (Rwanda) suffered a minor runway excursion incident upon landing at Kamembe Airport on the morning of October 22nd 2022.
The aircraft landed on Kamembe’s runway 20 at about 07:37L (05:37Z) but overran the end of the runway and came to a stop about 100 meters/330 feet past the end of the runway with all gear on soft ground after a 30 minutes flight.
The incident reported on @FlyRwandAir twitter page indicated that all passengers and crew disembarked without injuries and were all safe. “We’ll experience some disruptions in our schedule today and apologize for any inconvenience.” Reported RwandAir on their twitter page.
The airline and the aviation authorities immediately commenced an investigation on what could have led to the incident.
