Riyadh Air Plans Massive Salary Enhancement to its Pilots and First Officers

Saudi Arabia’s second flag carrier, Riyadh Air is drawing industry attention by planning a massive salary enhancement to its pilots and first officers by the end of this year.

First officers operating wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 787-9 will earn up to 65,000 Saudi Riyals per month which translates to approximately USD 17,300.

Narrow body captains will earn up to 115,000 Saudi Riyals which is equivalent to about USD 31,000 per month, while wide body captains may receive up to 120,000 Saudi Riyals per month which is around USD 32,000.

The benefits offered to pilots include accomodation in luxurious expatriates compounds, international school tuition for up to three children, 20 round-trip flight tickets per year, an annual Ramadan bonus, a 5% yearly salary increase, business class travel privileges and profit-sharing.

The fleet will consist of A321neo and Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Training is ongoing with a dreamliner leased from Oman Air. Applications are open, with a minimum of 2,000 flight hours required for first officers and over 6,000 flight hours for captains. The Applicants for these luxurious jobs must be under the age of 59.

Riyadh Air is planning to commence operations by the end of 2025. The proposed sumptuous salaries to captains and first officers is majorly aimed at enhancing competitiveness across middle-east skies and beyond.
