Kenya Airline Pilots Association Lose Court Case on Strike
Kenya Airways has this evening issued a statement welcoming a decision by the Employment and Labour Relations Court directing immediate resumption to work by all pilots by 6.am, 9th November 2022.
In the statement issued on the evening of 8th November 2022 by Kenya Airways Group Managing Director & CEO Mr. Allan Kilavuka, he apologised to KQ passengers and cargo customers for the inconvenience and disruption. He assured all KQ clients that as a company, they will do anything possible to return to normalcy in the shortest time possible.
“We would also like to thank all our staff who have worked long hours and tirelessly to assist customers over the last four days. We appreciate their hard work and sacrifice.” Noted CEO Kilavuka in his statement.
The Chief Executive further reiterated in his statement that the parth to recovery will be difficult and will require the airline to re-double its efforts to restructure, lower costs and increase staff productivity as well as recover the time, money and reputation lost.
Kenya Airline Pilots Association (KALPA) announced a strike on friday 4th November 2022 and the strike has been in effect since Saturday 5th November 2022 until the evening of 8th November 2022 when Employment and Labour Relations Court issued a directive to halt the Industrial action and allow Kenya Airways resume its operations.
