AFRAA Welcomes Fly Skyward Express As Its Newest Airline Member

African Airlines Association (AFRAA) has welcomed Fly Skyward Express as its newest member airline.
Mr. Abderahmane Berthe AFRAA Secretary General, visited Skyward Airlines’ head office in Nairobi, where he met the Chairman, Capt. Mohammed Abdi and the General Manager, Ms Diana Nyambura, to present the membership certificate.
The meeting presented an opportunity to discuss the industry developments in the region, Skyward Airlines’ vision and plans and how these can be better realized through AFRAA membership.
In his remarks, Mr. Berthe noted that AFRAA is very proud to have Skyward Express as the latest airline member of AFRAA. He went ahead to give a brief background of his organisation noting that AFRAA is an organization based in Nairobi, with current membership of 45 member airlines. The organization has 56 years of promoting airlines and championing African Aviation. Mr. Berthe expressed optimism that with Skyward Express’ vision and experience will bring a lot to AFRAA.
Capt. Mohammed Abdi, Skyward Express Chairman said “Our vision is to be the best airline in Africa, we want to be the best and we want to invest in African Aviation, we don’t do business to follow what others are doing, we want to do something different and we want to be the best in Africa one day. It may not be tomorrow or the next day but we will work hard to ensure that we become the best airline in Africa”
Skyward Express, is a private airline with its headquarters at Wilson Airport in Kenya. The airline was established in 2013, by two pilots; one of whom serves as the chairman of the airline, while the other serves as its Managing Director. Skyward Express inherited some equipment and some routes from the defunct Skyward International Aviation.
