Based on its effective role in strengthening relations and supporting the sports community in Uganda, the Arab African Investment and Tourism Group, along with the Dafnet and Dahab Exchanges, generously sponsored the Eid Al-Fitr 2025 programs.

Two cups, the Eid Cup and the Al-Zain Cup, were organized with the participation of nine teams. The competition kicked off on Sunday morning, the first day of Eid, at the KCCA Stadium in Lagogo.

Several diverse teams from various sectors within and outside Uganda participated in the competition. In attendance was the President Museveni’s Chief of Staff, Hajia Khadija Namyalu, and the Sudanese Ambassador to Uganda, Ambassador Ahmed Ibrahim.

Mr. Yassin Musa Al-Zain Abdullah, CEO of the Arab African Group and General Manager of Al-Tala’a Investment Group, affirmed his support for Ugandan athletes and community stars, noting that the group will work to strengthen the sporting, social, and economic ties between Uganda and Sudan and encourage a spirit of competition in all aspects of life.

In the same context, Uganda’s Ambassador to Sudan, Dr. Rashid Yahya Simudu, said that the Eid Cup was organized under the auspices of the Arab-African Group for Trade, Investment and Tourism, headed by Professor Yassin Musa Al-Zein.

He added that the event’s objectives includes promoting unity among the ranks and organizing a program that brought together youth and adults to benefit from everyone and serve as a bridge connecting youth with adults who hold various positions in the country. He explained that the second goal of the organization was to create a celebration free from forbidden celebrations, especially on the blessed day of Eid. He added, “Ten teams participated, including the Ugandan Police, the Ugandan Army, Ambassador Rashid’s team, in addition to the sheikhs’ team, the pilgrims’ team, the diplomats’ team, the Ugandan team who lived in Sudan before the war, the television and radio stations operating in the country, and the social media team.

Ambassador Rashid’s team won the Al-Zain Cup, while the pilgrims’ team won the Eid Cup.”

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Uganda’s Ambassador to Sudan, Dr. Rashid Yahya Simudu expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Arab African Investment and Tourism Group for sponsoring this cup and other matches that participated. He also thanked all the participants and the media for their coverage, and hoped that such programs and events would continue to solve the complexity of sports and communication.

Meanwhile, Sudan’s Ambassador to Uganda, Ambassador Ahmed Ibrahim, praised the idea of ​​the sports competition, saying that it contributes significantly to sports communication. He promised to hold a major competition aimed at bridging the gap between Sudanese and Ugandan teams as soon as possible.

In his speech, he thanked the Ugandan Ambassador to Sudan, Dr. Rashid Yahya, and all those in charge of organizing the sports competition.
